Someone told me long ago there's a calm before the storm I know. It's been coming for some time. When it's over, so they say, It'll rain a sunny day I know. Shining down like water.
I want to know - have you ever seen the rain? I want to know - have you ever seen the rain coming down on a sunny day?
Yesterday and days before sun is cold and rain is hard I know. It's been that way for all my time. 'Til forever, on it goes through the circle, fast and slow. I know. It can't stop. I wonder.

Egalitarianism: a protean doctrine
In Greek mythology, Proteus (Πρωτεύς) is an early sea-god, one of several deities whom Homer calls the "Old Man of the Sea"[1], whose name suggests the "first", as protogonos (πρωτόγονος) is the "primordial" or the "firstborn". He became the son of Poseidon in the Olympian theogony (Odyssey iv. 432), or of Nereus and Doris, or of Oceanus and a Naiad, and was made the herdsman of Poseidon's seals, the great bull seal at the center of the harem.
Proteus can foretell the future, but will change his shape to avoid having to; he will answer only to someone who is capable of capturing him. From this feature of Proteus comes the adjective protean, with the general meaning of "versatile", "mutable", "capable of assuming many forms":
"Protean" has positive connotations of flexibility, versatility and adaptability.

Deep Ecology
Deep ecology is a recent branch of ecological philosophy (ecosophy) that considers humankind an integral part of its environment. It is a body of thought that places greater value on non-human species, ecosystems and processes in nature than established environmental and green movements.
Deep ecology has led to a new system of environmental ethics. The core principle of deep ecology as originally developed is Arne Næss's doctrine of biospheric egalitarianism — the claim that, like humanity, the living environment as a whole has the same right to live and flourish.
Deep ecology describes itself as "deep" because it persists in asking deeper questions concerning "why" and "how" and thus is concerned with the fundamental philosophical questions about the impacts of human life as one part of the ecosphere, rather than with a narrow view of ecology as a branch of biological science, and aims to avoid merely utilitarian environmentalism, which it argues is concerned with resource management of the environment for human purposes.

The word is about there's something evolving
The word is about there's something evolving. Whatever may come the world keeps revolving. They say the next big thing is here - that the revolution's near. But to me it seems quite clear that it's all just a little bit of history repeating.
The newspapers shout "a new style is growing". But it don't know if it's coming or going. There is fashion, there is fad, some is good, some is bad, and the joke is rather sad - that its all just a little bit of history repeating and I've seen it before and I'll see it again. Yes, I've seen it before. Just little bits of history repeating.
Some people don't dance if they don't know who's singing. Why ask your head? - it's your hips that are swinging. Life's for us to enjoy - woman, man, girl and boy. Feel the pain! Feel the joy! - and side step the little bits of history repeating.
Just little bits of history repeating. And I've seen it before. And I'll see it again. Yes I've seen it before. Just little bits of history repeating.

Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to the dull and ignorant, they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you will become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lessor persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world if full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself, especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in this noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.
